SWAMPSCOTT, MA — A new sidewalk is coming to Swampscott to make things safer for middle school students and staff. The Department of Public Works is overseeing the installation of a sidewalk on Forest Avenue across from Swampscott Middle School. The DPW said workers will be constructing a retaining wall to support abutting residents' landscapes, putting in new granite curbing, relocating some irrigation systems and will then put in place an asphalt sidewalk. The DPW said the project is scheduled to be completed by the end of the month. Did you find this article useful? Invite a friend to subscribe to Patch.
