EASTON, MA — The Easton Fire Department announced Thursday that Jon Carroll has officially been sworn in as the department's deputy chief. Carroll, who has been interim deputy chief since October 2020, was sworn in at Easton Fire Station 3 on Tuesday, May 4. "Chief Partridge worked tirelessly to establish the deputy chief position and appointed Deputy Chief Carroll as one of his final accomplishments as chief before retirement," said Chief Justin Alexander in a statement. "Jon's experience and dedication to the Easton Fire Department for the past decade is tremendously valuable to this department and community. I am very happy to have him as deputy chief and I will certainly be relying on his institutional knowledge as I get acclimated to my new role." Carroll began working for the Easton Fire Department in 2010 as a firefighter and paramedic and was promoted to lieutenant in 2017 before being appointed interim deputy chief. He served as the department's Student Awareness of Fire Education (S.A.F.E.) coordinator and a board member of the annual open house event. As deputy chief, Carroll oversees the operations of the department, supervises the Fire Prevention and Training divisions, assists Chief Alexander in implementing decisions, and serves as the assistant emergency management director.
