This class is the launch point into an exciting world of Laser Cutting and Engraving at Makerspace Charlotte. This class is recommended for everyone interested in CNC Lasers at Makerspace Charlotte. No prior experience is necessary, all are welcome. The primary topics of this class are: Safety Troubleshooting Resources Hardware use Software use Stratagem for safety completing basic etching and cutting of multiple materials Accessories such as the rotary tool and Acrylic polisher are discussed (and demonstrated when time permits.) Instructor, Kyle Hoover is our resident laser expert. He maintains our machines and guides members in their laser-cutting journey. Minors are welcome to attend, though they must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. No additional ticket needed. Not recommended for children under 14 years of age. Guests are asked to be on time for events. If the safety briefing is missed, the guest will not be able to join the class and no refunds will be given. MakerSpace Charlotte dues-paying members can check their email for a monthly Access Code to unlock member discounts on Eventbrite during checkout. Face coverings are required. Masks must cover the nose and mouth, as mandated in NC. Hand sanitizer and bathrooms are available for hand washing during the event.
