Redmond-based company Sensoria Health, a leader in wearable technology, today announced its latest innovation Sensoria® Baby, a smart bodysuit crafted with Sensoria’s unique microelectronics and soft textile pressure sensors. Developed in collaboration with new parents Kevin Furnari, a U.S. Army helicopter pilot, and his wife Jacqueline, Sensoria® Baby allows parents to monitor their baby’s position and breathing rate. The IoT garment can also detect excessive pressure on the baby’s body while sleeping. The product will be available in 2021. “Each year, roughly 3,600 babies in the United States die suddenly and unexpectedly from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and accidental suffocation in a sleeping environment,” said Davide Vigano, co-founder and CEO at Sensoria Health. “With our technology and great partners, we are uniquely positioned to deliver a solution that may help prevent some of these tragic deaths.” Sensoria® Baby was conceptualized when the Furnaris struggled to find a product that could provide the exhausted young couple with peace of mind during co-sleeping. Sensoria® Baby comes with a dedicated mobile app, available for Android and iOS devices, which pairs with the bodysuit’s FCC certified Bluetooth Smart enabled Sensoria® Core. With Sensoria® Baby, parents can easily track their infant’s sleep time and breathing rate, and they will be alerted if breathing stops or if an object or a parent starts to apply pressure onto their child’s body. Sensoria’s pressure-sensitive bodysuit, designed with Kevin Furnari’s input, fulfills an unmet market need for innovative, reliable baby products that empower parents to better understand their baby’s sleep patterns and safety during a crucial phase of their development. “We believe this technology will be the future of babywear,” said Kevin Furnari, president of Nova Years LLC. “We brought this need to Sensoria Health in hopes of creating a product that could provide peace of mind to parents like ourselves who find themselves co-sleeping with their infants or are anxious about the health of their babies.” A leading developer of Internet of Me (IoMe) smart garments and artificial intelligence software solutions, Sensoria Health has been helping improve people’s lives since 2019. Sensoria’s proprietary sensor-infused smart garments, Sensoria® Core microelectronics and cloud system enable IoT apparel and clothing products to convert data into actionable information. The Sensoria Health and Nova Years LLC teams have been working together to develop Sensoria® Baby for over a year. The pre-launch campaign begins today, and the product will be available for order via Kickstarter in mid-2021.
