STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A police chase in Stafford County led to two arrests on Thursday afternoon, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Two suspects are in police custody after authorities said they fled the scene of a fight. Authorities have not yet identified the two suspects. In a video posted to Facebook, the Sheriff's Office warned residents to expect a heavy police presence in the Autumn Ridge neighborhood. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office originally responded to the Garrison Woods neighborhood at 12:30 p.m. for a report of a fight. When deputies reached the area, they observed a black Acura sedan fleeing the scene at a high speed, according to a police report. A deputy followed the vehicle, which led to a chase, Major Shawn Kimmitz said. The deputy chased the vehicle onto Garrisonville Road, and then onto Eustace Road. Authorities claimed that a passenger in the Acura threw a gun out of their car. Deputies have recovered the firearm, Kimmitz said. After discarding the gun, the suspects entered the Autumn Ridge subdivision, exited the car, and began to flee on foot. A K-9 unit responded to the area and successfully located the suspects, police said. Deputies are currently attempting to identify the suspects, Kimmitz said. Authorities said that the suspects' identities and charges will be released in the future. The sheriff's office said that there is no threat to the community at the time. However, residents can expect a continued police presence in the area of the chase.
