NEW HAVEN, CT — Late Wednesday morning, New Haven firefighters responded to a house fire on Monroe Street in the Fair Haven section of town. The New Haven Fire Department initially reported that two people may have been trapped inside the house, but later said that all residents had escaped. The fire at 64 Monroe St., was a two-alarm blaze and firefighters reported that when they arrived, the fire was well underway on the first floor. It's reported that two adults and two children escaped uninjured. A close call on Monroe Street, in the Fair Haven section of New Haven today. Two adults, four children and one pet made it out of this home fine. One pet died.
