Description

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County firefighters provided an assist Wednesday afternoon to a county woman whose pet bird had flown the coop. "A resident called saying that her pet sun conure has gotten spooked into a tree and would not come down on it's own," said Taylor Blunt, a public information officer with ACPD. "Out of options, she called us and we happily rescued her beloved pet." While other ACFD units were on the scene of an apartment fire in Rosslyn, the crew from Fire Station 6 on Little Falls Road used the ladder from Truck 106 to rescue the bird from the tree and returned it to its owner. As other units were battling an apartment fire in Rosslyn yesterday, the crew from T106 was called to assist a prized sun conure down from a tree. As firefighters, we never know what our day will be like!
