Description

Press release from the Lake County Government: Improving infrastructure in Lake County could get a much-needed boost as part of two new federal initiatives that identify and address infrastructure funding needs at the local level. Last week, Lake County's US Representatives, Sean Casten (IL-6), Brad Schneider (IL-10), and Lauren Underwood (IL-14), submitted nearly $50 million in Lake County's infrastructure projects for Congress to consider. The projects will be reviewed by Congress for its 2022 fiscal year budget and aim to mitigate flooding, strengthen emergency operations, build new bikes paths, and expand behavioral health service. "We've been working closely with our federal delegation on Lake County's infrastructure needs for years, and are pleased that there is a renewed focus to provide federal funding on these critical projects," said Sandy Hart, Lake County Board Chair. "We thank our representatives for submitting several projects for potential funding that will benefit Lake County residents and businesses for decades to come." Additional Info...
