ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a house burglary, a jogger being nipped by a dog, a person adjusting a security camera, a gun displayed after an accident and domestic disturbances. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports: House burglary A house in the 600 block of Cambridge Avenue was burglarized between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday. The victims discovered their garage and interior doors open. Property was missing. An investigation is pending. Jogger nipped A jogger on the Salt Creek Pathway said she was nipped by a gray weimaraner dog at 9 a.m. Tuesday. She said she suffered a scratch on her upper right thigh, which was not bleeding. She refused medical treatment. The report was sent to DuPage County Animal Control. Bicycle found An officer found an unattended Huffy Blackwater mountain bicycle Monday at the northwest corner of Parkside and Seminole avenues. The officer placed the bike into evidence. Security camera adjusted The homeowners association at Market Square, 200 N. Addison Ave., installed surveillance cameras after having problems in the common garage. The footage showed a person adjusting the view of one of the cameras. The reporting officer told the person to leave the cameras in their positions. Tossing items off parking deck Police said there is an ongoing issue of children throwing items off the top level of the Addison parking deck. About 5 p.m. Monday, four 13-year-old boys riding bicycles threw food off the top level, hitting a car parked in the lot behind 131 N. Addison Ave. Gun displayed A man displayed a handgun after a minor car accident about 10 p.m. Monday at Butterfield and York. The suspect car was found a short time later. A woman was behind the wheel; no one else was with her. She denied being involved in a traffic accident and said a man was not with her in the car. An investigation is pending. Domestic disturbances A domestic disturbance happened at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Prairie Avenue. A woman told police that after drinking with a man, he struck her. The man said he and the woman were intoxicated. He denied hitting her, instead saying she struck him. Neither party wished to file a complaint. A woman told police that a man struck her during an argument at 9 p.m. Wednesday at Shell gas station, 218 E. Butterfield Road. The man said the woman struck him and that he grabbed both of her arms to stop her from hitting him. Neither the man nor the woman had signs of injuries. Neither wanted to sign a complaint. Because of the conflicting statements and no complaints, no arrests were made. Threatened at work A man told police that a person threatened him while he was working Jan. 20 at Honda on Grand, 300 W. Grand Ave. The incident was reported Wednesday.
