Press release from the City of Minnetonka:
May 5, 2021
Minnetonka residents can take advantage of two waste collection events scheduled for the next month. The first is a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event hosted by Hennepin County. It will be held Friday and Saturday, May 7 and 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.
The hazardous waste collection is an opportunity for residents to safely and properly dispose of unwanted chemical products that are flammable, toxic or dangerous when combined with other products. You can learn more about what material is accepted through this link.
The collection spot will be at the Minnetonka Public Works Department at 11522 Minnetonka Blvd. Residents should remain in their vehicles unless otherwise directed by staff. Items should be stored in the trunk of the vehicle, bed of truck, or in a trailer. Our events welcome residents arriving via bicycles and walk-ups.
Early next month, Minnetonka will host its annual Community Drop-off Day also at the Public Works facility. It will take place Saturday, June 5 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. This collection event is focused on large household appliance and other items, but hazardous waste will not be accepted at this event.
