ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — As spring begins to settle in, area residents will again have access to fresh produce, artisan cheeses, homemade pastries, and homemade crafts when the Arlington Heights farmers market opens for the season. The market will be open to the public for the first time on Saturday, May 15, in the commuter parking lot located across the street from the Arlington Heights Historical Museum on Vale Avenue and Fremont Street. The market will be open from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on May 15 and Sunday, May 16, officials announced recently. The market will open but visitors are expected to follow guidelines set in place by state and local health officials as the coronavirus pandemic continues. Face-coverings will be required at the market and visitors are asked to maintain proper social distancing. Local residents are asked not to attend the market if they do not feel well or if they have recently been in contact with someone who has tested positive for the coronavirus. Pets will not be allowed and customers are asked to pay with credit or debit cards or have exact change when paying with cash. Purchased goods will be packaged by vendors and visitors are asked not to bring reusable bags. A list of market vendors can be found here and the market will continue through the spring and summer and will provide seasonal goods as they become available.
