Our mission here at iFixit is to teach everyone how to fix everything. We’re seeking to fill a position for a part-time Custodian position to help keep our San Luis Obispo headquarters in tip-top shape. Hours are generally flexible, but when working on projects with others you’ll be expected to communicate with coworkers to schedule your time appropriately. The safety of team members is important and at present this role requires adherence to COVID safety protocols, including mask wearing and social distancing. What you'd be doing: Perform a wide variety of general maintenance and cleaning needs --- this might include wiping down surfaces, changing a light-bulb, calling a plumber, picking up and throwing away trash, cleaning exterior areas of the building, assembling shelves or furniture, cleaning roof decks, organizing the warehouse, or dusting and cleaning spider webs. Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists for cleaning and facility maintenance. Proactively fix things in the building in need of repair and find ways to improve and maintain overall office cleanliness. Personality traits and skills that lend to success in this position: Basic familiarity with tools and repairs and maintenance Handyman skills, including woodworking, drywall, painting, and plumbing Good organizational skills and a general desire to see everything neat and tidy Ability to juggle and prioritize tasks Follow through and follow up on projects to see them through to completion Willingness to ask for assistance or additional resources when needed iFixit is an awesome place to work!
