The City of San Luis Obispo is currently accepting applications for the position of Facilities Aide (Farmers Market) in the Streets Division of our Public Works Department. Under general supervision, the Facilities Aide (Farmers Market), sets up barricades and delineation for Farmer's Market road closures; washes and cleans Corporation Yard vehicles; removes road closure delineation after Farmer's Market ends. This position is temporary with no benefits,not to exceed 1000 hours in a fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). This position is Thursday evenings only from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. There are seveal vacancies. Knowledge of: methods, tools, equipment, and procedures used in public works maintenance and construction work with additional knowledge in specialized areas as appropriate to assignment; safety procedures used in public works construction and maintenance projects. Ability to: safely and effectively operate automotive and specialized equipment utilized in public works maintenance and construction work; maintain routine records; understand and follow oral and written instructions in an independent manner; meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform required duties; establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: TYPICAL DUTIES (Any one position may not include all the duties listed nor do all listed examples include all tasks which may be found in the position of this class.)
