Company Description: Capital Provisions is a full-service vending operator based in Southern California. We offer a wide selection of products and personalized service to meet our customers’ vending needs. We possess a diverse account base across multiple industries, including manufacturing, offices, schools, parks and recreation, hospitals, retail, hotels, and many others. We incorporate market-proven technology with focused marketing programs and an opportunistic acquisition strategy, and plan to aggressively expand throughout California and the Western States, including Arizona, Nevada and Washington, and Oregon in the coming years. Position: Route Driver Reports to: Route Manager Summary The Route Driver (RD) is responsible for the daily distribution of products to vending machines and unattended micro-markets as assigned by the Route Manager. Route Driver use mobile-based software to record every stop at every location, act as the “face of Capital Provisions” to all customers, and drive revenue through proactive merchandising (in conjunction with the Route Manager and the Procurement/Merchandising department). The Route Driver reports directly to the Route Manager. Duties & Responsibilities ● Perform daily cleaning and maintenance on vending machines and unattended markets (including minor maintenance); verify working order of all machines/markets and report condition to Route Supervisor ● Stock machines based on established plan-o-grams and with products provided by Warehouse personnel following FIFO (first in, first out); remove and return expired or stale products (bring backs); place product in machines to maximize presentation and sales (through planograms provided by Procurement/Merchandising Manager) as shown in vending management system (VMS) ● Interact with customers at locations and provide information to Route Manager; offer solutions for increasing revenue from accounts (different products, upgrading to micro-market, etc.); handle refunds as needed ● Drive company vehicle during scheduled daily distribution of product to machines at various route locations; maintain vehicle (return truck as clean as you received it each day) ● Uses designated VMS to keep a daily record of products distributed to each machine ● Provides quality customer service through regular interaction and communication with account contacts; listens to and resolves service complaints; drop off SWAG once per month (provided by Procurement/Merchandising Manager) ● Communicates status of machines (includes reporting machine vandalism and theft) and customer accounts to Route Manager ● Collects money from machines; accounts for the security of all money, machines, and merchandise on the route; provides information on shortages/overages of money collected ● Keeps daily inventory record of merchandise taken from warehouse stock ● Maintains company tools in proper working condition ● Helps install and remove equipment from locations Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ● Previous experience servicing vending machines/micro-market accounts/customers ● Experience in handling food and beverage products ● Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to interact with managers and coworkers in a professional, courteous manner ● Familiarity with technical systems and processes for tracking inventory being stocked at locations ● Drive to accomplish goals, meet deadlines and find solutions; ability to multitask and prioritize effectively ● Able to work both independently, and as a team ● Attention to detail & accuracy Requirements: ● Ability to use an iPad or Android tablet ● Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels ● Ability to regularly transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet ● Ability to lift, twist, crawl, grab, climb, or perform similar activities as needed ● Ability to stand for long periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance ● Requires driving to and from accounts based on scheduled service ● Ability to pass a background check for access to military bases, closed campuses, etc. ● Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed ● Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance Qualifications ● High school diploma or equivalent required ● Valid California class C driver license; must have and maintain a acceptable driving record (no more than two moving violations in the last three years); no DUIs
