When I was a youth my dad was away on business quite often. And when I did things I shouldn't do mom sent me next door for a "noisy" visit with Mr. B________d. After staring at the floor while kicking like crazy, I couldn't really sit down comfortably for a while. BUT it always worked. Does this sound familiar? Are you around? You would be in your 60's by now.
