The Wells Solar Design Department is seeking to fill several positions for Site Surveyors in the DFW area. The perfect candidate has prior “hands on” installation knowledge and is looking to build on and expand their development to residential and commercial design and layouts. Candidates should have 1-3 years practical experience installing solar, knowledge of electrical components, local codes and computer knowledge. This position provides an excellent opportunity for those individuals wanting to expand their career within the solar industry. Our designers are trained and certified with Remote Pilot Certification. Training and advancement available for the proper candidates. We are a small team that gets the job done, the ideal candidate must be able to work independently and in a group and virtual setting. Job Duties/ Responsibilities • Travel to project sites to obtain necessary information to complete technical design documents for a solar system • Create a rooftop map for solar arrays including roof layout dimensions and all roof penetrations (pipes, vents, etc) Develop a relationship with customers to establish rapport and to gather facilities assessment data as needed • Conduct a physical site audit using auditing tools including a tablet/phone with apps and measuring devices Upload site audit as needed to coordinate with the design department to produce permit-ready documents within 24 hours. • Follow operating procedures for site audit to ensure a smooth handoff between departments • Provide and maintain a current driver’s license and a clean driving record to safely operate a company vehicle. • Develop relationships with sales team, design professionals and subcontractors to support the business activities • Gather detailed structural data on multiple types of buildings • Identify and document any issues and or obstructions that may effect design and production of proposed system • Gather all electric data required by the company, including detailed photographs to support findings Perform other duties as necessary Qualification Requirements • Entry level minimum of (1-3) years experience related to solar and or construction/roofing • Solar installation experience is preferred • High School, GED or Trade School degree in a discipline related to construction or solar required • Ability to understand, read and comprehend contract documents • Must be physically able to work on roofs, attics and lift 50 lbs. on occasions • Must have a valid state drivers license and clean driving record • Must be able to travel to different offices if needed • Must be able to follow safety procedures required by the company Benefits: • Competitive Weekly Pay • Company-paid training and development • Paid vacation and paid holidays • Health benefits; medical, dental and vision insurance available Schedule: • Monday-Friday **Wells Solar & Electrical Services, is an equal opportunity employer based in Austin, Texas.** Employment Type Full-time
