Community Mainstreaming is a non-profit human service agency committed to providing services to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities lead meaningful productive lives within their community. Locations: Nassau and Suffolk County Hours: Part time- 24 hours a week (6 hours a day) We are seeking a Maintenance Worker to maintain multiple residential group homes on Long Island. Essential duties include, but not limited to: Interior and exterior painting including the use of stains, varnishes, polyurethane, spackle, and sheetrock Pressure washing houses, cleaning, and maintaining grounds including patios, sheds, grills, outdoor furniture, fences and gates Maintaining and cleaning of exterior trash container areas Removing leaves and branches from roofs and cleaning gutters Moving and assembling furniture, hanging pictures, shelves, mirrors etc. General areas of plumbing including plunging and clearing of all drains and toilets Conduct safety check pertaining to fire systems maintenance Maintaining and cleaning appliances, related ductwork, and maintenance department work areas Replacing light bulbs and cleaning light fixtures Transporting and picking up items from special events Snow and ice removal from: walks, driveways, and roofs Complete assigned monthly work orders and routine monthly check list Report any safety or maintenance issues to the Facilities Manager Accept specific assignments in the area for facilities maintenance from the Facilities Manager and Directors Maintain knowledge of regulations pertaining to residential programs as they relate to the maintenance repair of all sites Qualifications: Must be proficient in painting 1+ years of experience in general maintenance and the use of basic tools Ability to lift at least 50lbs Ability to climb and work on ladders and roofs Valid NYS Drivers License Reliable transportation Experience with adults with developmental disabilities preferred To submit an application online, please go to
