Some more details about the job are: Principal Purpose of Job: C&TSRR has historically prided itself on providing within its customer relations and service a safe, clean and memorable train experience for our clients as well as providing a safe and clean environment for our staff. We are looking for staff to provide janitorial services for the trains, grounds, and depot. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ● Sweep, mop floors of passenger train coaches ● Wipe down and sanitize seats on coaches per Covid-19 guidelines. ● Wash windows on coaches as needed – at least once per week ● Wash coach exteriors time permitting – at least once per week ● Clean inside of depot which includes sweep, mop, sanitize, wash windows, wipe frequently touched surfaces ● Pick up trash on railroad property and empty trash cans as needed daily. Empty outside trash can at night ● Vacuum carpet daily on premium cars (shampoo carpets when necessary). ● Landscaping – e.g. trimming, pulling weeds, debris pickup ● Bathrooms are a constant priority. ● Assist train crew with coach toilets – requires lifting, dumping into dump stations and filling tanks Other Duties: ● Report maintenance issues ● Report safety issues Personal Attributes: ● Possess outgoing, approachable, and friendly demeanor ● Possess strong organizational skills ● Possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal) ● Be self-directed and work with minimal supervision – while paying attention to time constraints ● Have a positive and proactive approach to teamwork ● Work safely and responsibly at all times ● Have flexibility to the needs of the janitorial requirements Physical Demands: ● See position analysis, included below. Education/Experience: ● High School Diploma, G.E.D. certificate and/or equivalent work experience Special Skills/Equipment: • Able to work a flexible schedule, including some nights, weekends, and holidays • Work effectively and efficiently with consideration for evolving situations and scenarios (ex. weather) • Safety is a constant priority.
