Description

Learn how to make and use different kinds of herbal infusions in this introductory workshop. Traditional herbal medicine preparations go by many names - tincture, decoction, oxymel, infusion, glycerite, but what do they all mean? And why is each one used? Join community herbalist Michelle at the Green Farmacy Garden to learn about making effective, safe, and powerfully healing medicinal preparations from fresh and dried plants straight from the garden. We will discuss how to make and work with the following preparations: tinctures, teas, vinegars, oxymels, glycerites, and essences, and craft a few distinct medicinal blends in our gorgeous living library of 300+ medicinal plant species from around the world. We will also discuss how to incorporate these herbal infusions as supplements for a healthier lifestyle for mind, body, and spirit. Bring paper and writing utensils to take notes, and be mindful of the weather as we will be outside in the garden! Sunscreen, hat, bug repellant, water bottle, and layered clothing are recommended; masks and physical distancing are required. Five scholarship spots for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) are available, email us at [email protected] to claim one!
