Study Title: Measurement of the Autonomic and Fronto-Cortical Correlates of Trauma-Related Nightmares in PTSD Using Ambulatory Physiological and fNIRS Recordings Study Description: This study aims to explore whether repetitive nightmares following a traumatic experience can be incorporated into treatments for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). If eligible for this study, you will record nightmares for 2 weeks, complete home sleep recordings, an MRI brain scan, and an experimental procedure where you will recollect actual traumatic experiences and nightmares about those experiences while your physiological responses are monitored. Participation Involves • 6-8 visits to Mass General Hospital • Psychiatric and sleep disorder interview • Audiotaping accounts of traumatic experience and nightmares • Completing 14 days of sleep diaries while wearing sleep-monitoring devices • Recollecting your traumatic event and nightmares to collect physiological data
