Job Description A custom wood and metal cabinet shop is in need of an assistant / general laborer in Hamden. Tasks include carpentry prep work, measuring, cutting wood and metal, staining, sanding, working with hand and power tools, assisting with deliveries, off-site installations and assembling items when needed. They will assist in all areas of manufacturing, construction, organizing, and shop maintenance, as well as packing and shipping as needed. When necessary, some landscaping and other job site tasks may be required as well. Experience with hand and power tools is preferred but training is possible for the right candidate. This position requires repetitive work, attention to detail, ability to follow detailed instructions, and attention to safety regulations. Serious, reliable, and hardworking candidates only, please. This position starts at $13 - $16 hourly, based on experience. Part or full time position available. REQUIREMENTS -Must have reliable transportation -Ability to lift and carry materials up to 80lbs -Experience with hand and power tools preferred; will train -Prior experience in construction, fabricating, or carpentry a plus
