There are multiple openings with the Yakima County Public Services, County Road Department. This is an intermittent, on-call, extra help, temporary position. The purpose of this position is to perform routine activities related to maintaining roads and facilities, building and surveying County owned roads. Performs other tasks as required. Work schedule may be scheduled up to 8 hours or more per day. Education and Experience: High School Diploma/ GED and 1 year of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties of the job. Required: Valid WA State Driver’s License and proof of insurance, if requested. Preferred: Skills in operating basic hand tools, lawn and facility maintenance machinery and equipment. Ability to take direction. Skill in working with others. Ability to work independently as directed. Experience in directing traffic; operating grounds keeping equipment and/or forklift.
