Thrive Support & Advocacy is currently seeking experienced staff for the following Social Groups for youth with intellectual/developmental disabilities: Thrive’s After-School Community (TASC). TASC runs Mon, Tues, Thurs, & Fri from 2:30 pm-5:00 pm at our Marlboro location, 65 Boston Post Road West, Suite 215. In-Person ASD Men’s Social Group on Monday’s from 5:00–7:00 PMSmall Group Hangout Wednesdays, community outings from 3:00 PM – 5:00PM RESPONSIBILITIES/OBJECTIVES: Working 1:1 or in a group with children and young adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities including ASDProviding a fun environment where kids can play games, learn new skills, and participate in social activitiesHelping participants reach their goals of building self-esteem and social skillsTreat all individuals with dignity and respectSupport the participant’s community integration and onsite social group experiences, facilitate fun and engaging activities, and the pursuit of personal interests and hobbies according to the needs and requests of the participant.To professionally and efficiently carry out responsibilities in support of Thrive’s mission. QUALIFICATIONS: 18 years or older.High school diploma or GED and two years related experience. Successful background check: CORI and fingerprintingCompletion of Relias on-line trainings during orientation period provided by ThriveFirst Aid and CPR certifications must be acquired within 6 months from date of hire, provided by ThriveAbility to achieve all required trainings provided by Thrive such as CPR, First AID, Human Rights and Positive Behavioral SupportsSensitivity to the needs of people with disabilities.Experience with behavior plans is a must. Must have basic computer knowledge. High energy with superior interpersonal skills and the ability to function in a team atmosphere.Driver’s license a requirement with access to an operational and insured vehicle and a willingness to use it to transport. We offer a dynamic array of youth and adult initiatives as well as comprehensive family support, social & recreational, and residential services. Rapidly growing, we now serve more than 500 children, adults, and families in the greater Metrowest and Worcester area.
