HOWARD COUNTY, MD — This week, the Howard County Health Department received 3,200 doses of the Moderna vaccine and will be partnering with Alpha Pharmacy and the Howard County Public School System to vaccinate 16- and 17-year-old students and the general public at Howard Community College with the Pfizer vaccine on Wednesdays. "We are shifting to operate smaller clinics at multiple sites throughout the county to make it easier for residents to get vaccinated. Appointments are encouraged, but no longer required. Walk-ups are welcome," Howard County Health Officer Maura Rossman said. Howard County opened a mass vaccination site in partnership with the state April 30. More than 3,000 individuals received the Pfizer vaccination over the weekend, Rossman said. The mass vaccination site is located at the Mall in Columbia and operates Wednesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can register for vaccines at this site and a variety of sites by using the state vaccine locator at https://coronavirus.maryland.gov/pages/vaccine#locator. All residents 16 years and older are eligible.
