Groton Man Charged With DWI In Ledyard

LEDYARD, CT — Police arrested a Groton man Sunday on a DWI charge. Joseph Wessell, 43, of 1 Lewiston Court, was charged with driving while intoxicated. Police received a 911 call about a driver on Spicer Hill Road at 12:22 a.m. The caller said the driving was all over the road, nearly striking other vehicles as well as utility poles. Officers found the Dodge Ram on Reuven Drive and discovered the driver was intoxicated, according to police. Wessell was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 1.
