Summit Technology Group has an immediate, full-time opening for a Solar Lead with, a positive attitude, integrity, experience with battery backup and storage and a strong work ethic. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Drive quality and efficiency • Implement and enforce company protocols and standards in the field • Organize, lead and train installation crew to complete projects within guidelines and timeframes • Provide leadership and expertise to installation crews • Manages team’s quality of work • Ensure adequate inventory for each installation, stage and manage tools at jobsite • Ensure jobsite safety • Keep management current on project status and any issues that arise • Layout and assembly of solar modules and mounting hardware • Mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules and electrical equipment • Commission the solar system and complete punch list items • Electrical wiring of solar system (AC and DC) • Experience in back up battery and storage • Monitor progress and maintain photo logs of construction activities on a regular basis • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with installers, customers and Project Manager • Apply working knowledge of NEC and CBC Code compliance on installation of all electrical and mechanical components as well as OSHA safety requirements • Manage roof and ground team simultaneously, while solely responsible for electrical intergration-100% accountable for full scope of installation • Work on rooftops, operate lifts and manage other challenging environments • Ensure proper documentation is completed at the end of job • Leave the jobsite clean after completion of install ELECTRICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Understand and adhere to the NEC and OSHA requirements • Interpret three-line drawing and structural diagrams • Lead the design and installation of all DC and AC conduit in both internal and external applications • Accurately size, and specify and pull appropriate conductors and grounding • Install DC and AC disconnects • Properly wire PV inverters and perform system tie-ins • Drive grounding rods • Install and commission PV system monitoring SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversees 2 to 4 Solar Installers JOB REQUIREMENTS: • Must hold a current Driver’s License • Must have reliable transportation • Must always have required personal tools with them • Must be able to bend conduit pipe • Must be able to operate hand and power tools • Must be able to navigate roofs up to 12:12 pitch • Must be able to lift and or move up to 50lbs • Operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmission EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: • High School Diploma or GED • At least 2 years of management experience in a similar field • At least 1 years of solar installation experience • At least 1 year of solar electrician experience If you have the right skills combined with a desire to contribute to the future success of our organization, we want to hear from you!
