Description
Driver $25 Helper $20 HAULER! junk removal service is looking for a person who can drive a box truck in the city and load that truck up with all the strange things people are getting rid of in San Francisco. Every day you're seeing different things in different parts of the city. We also go down as far as Burlingame, up to Marin and occasionally we cross that dreaded Bay Bridge. We work for businesses getting rid of pallets, we work for homeowners who are clearing out junk in their garages. So this is a job for someone who likes to be active and can't stand sitting down at a desk all day. You'll be asked to move heavy couches carefully down flights of stairs, pick up heavy loads of wood that may have spiders, sometimes we run across mouse and rat poop too. But you will have gloves and masks provided - we want everyone to be safe and healthy. So there are occasionally some nasty things, but for the most part its just stuff people leave behind when they move out, or have passed away. There are lots of cardboard pickups, companies that have more packing material than fits in their garbage cans. Don't think we are crime scene cleaners, but to be upfront, sometimes we find some weird stuff. This leads us to the second part of the headline - FREE STUFF! Lets establish there is a pecking order, since part of the business model at Hauler! is reselling items online and at flea markets. But there is so much good usable stuff coming through, it's very rare we can't send people home with what they want. Kitchen ware, furniture, bicycles, you name it. We have recently moved into a storefront on 3rd Street in San Francisco, where 2 team members are photographing and listing items for sale. You and your partner will be driving through the City, making an average of three stops a day picking up junk. At the end of the day you head back to the storefront and unload what we can resell or recycle, then head to the dump to get the truck ready for the next day. Each truck has a driver and a helper, so you are part of a 2 man crew. The driver position pays $25 an hour to start, with room for growth depending on experience and ability to manage other aspects of the business. The helper position starts at $20 and is also open for growth. You will be paid twice a month through a payroll service. This is not a cash job. You can expect tips regularly. With a regular paycheck, tips, and free stuff, this is a nice job. My name is Jon Rolston and I am the founder of this company, and I encourage both men and woman to apply. We are a small local company that wants to be profitable AND have happy employees. This job has provided me with many more mental challenges than I would have expected from junk hauling, so if you are looking for a job that can stimulate you mentally as well as physically, please reach out and we can talk. And if you are looking for a straight-forward job with less demands (but less compensation) this is it. Take the junk and put it on the truck. Expect to start at 9 am in the morning Monday through Friday. We don't work weekends except in rare cases. The day is over typically around 4 or 5 pm, sometimes we work a little later if theres a deadline.
