A local small landscape business looking for 2 positions, As a Crew leader and Helper, business located in San Rafael, majority of work will take place in Marin county. You will provide landscape maintenance support to a variety residential properties. Landscape maintenance support includes the safe operation of grade landscaping equipment and upkeep of plant material and other landscaping elements. Crew Leader to have a minimum of 3 years of experience running a crew of 2 or more. Provide proof of work. Helper to have 2 year minimum experience; HELPER a. Cut turf using various sized power mowers, trimming and edging using a gas-powered edger/trimmer, and operating a gas-powered blower and battery blowers; b. Properly and safely prune shrubs and low trees as needed to improve the shape or growth habit or to remove damaged branches; c. Plant and maintain flower beds; d. Properly and safely operate the edger and line trimmer along sidewalks, flower beds, trees, buildings, fences and other objects e. Pick up trash and blow leaves and other organic debris on to the turf before mowing. Mulch the leaves and organic matter when mowing. f. Perform weeding by hand or using a garden hoe or hula hoe; g. Maintain a polite, friendly responsive demeanor with guests and customers; h. Other duties as assigned such as power washing, planting plants, fertilization, use of fungicides and insecticides; Phone savvy in order to run and complete routes. Capacity to follow instructions and fix issues on your own; Physical Labor - Must Pass Fitness Test CREW LEADER all above as helper + knowledge of maintenance, plants, pruning, weeding, plant identification, irrigation, outdoor lighting and the most important be able to fix problems, being PRO ACTIVE!!! I. Crew Leader MUST speak English and Spanish, and have a clean California Drivers License. It is essential to apply for Crew Leader III. Requirements You must be at least 18 years old, enthusiastic and dependable, and able to safely work with equipment like power saws and cutters and work under extreme weather conditions. You must know about right time to prune, fertilize; You must know plants by name; You must be PRO ACTIVE, engage customer and show good conduct; You must know the difference between flowers and weeds; You must have Ability to coach and develop teams; You must be a proactive leader; You must know about how to set up irrigation system, troubleshooting and fixing problems in the field; • Drug Free - Must Pass Preliminary Drug Test • Desire to work, learn, and grow.
