The SoulGentz' Basketball Team is looking for a creative, patient and committed young man to help us create, mentor and train a new basketball team which will be comprised of ten young men ages 13 and 15.The SoulGentz Team has not been created yet. We are waiting to get our coaching staff in place before we start conducting tryouts. The onboarded coaches will help us seek out and secure an outdoor location for their teams to practice for the rest of this season- which ends on June 26th. We have one coach in place already.Practices are only held on Saturdays at a time that works best for the coaches. When we are permitted to return indoors, our practices will be held in the downtown area of Rahway (we anticipate using the Rahway YMCA). If we are unable to return to the YMCA, our hope is to secure a location in either Union or Essex counties.This will be an abbreviated season - starting in March and ending in June. The team will take a break in July and when they return in August - they will be registered under the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). Coaches MUST submit to a background check through the AAU (which we will pay for).Candidates must have extensive knowledge and experience in basketball - even if they have never coached before. We will also accept high school juniors and seniors as team coaching assistants for community service credit.Please let us know about your basketball coaching experience when you reach out to us.
