WATSONVILLE, CA — Watsonville's Staff of Life store is now accepting food benefits. In California, Cal Fresh is the state program that administers food benefits through the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Electronic Benefit Transfer cards. Staff of Life customers can now use EBT cards to shop produce, meat, poultry, fish, dairy products, bread, cereal, snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, and seeds and plants, the company announced. Food benefits can't be used for alcohol, hot foods, delivery or curbside pickup. The Santa Cruz-based company opened its second location at 906 E. Lake Ave. in Watsonville about a month ago and was recently approved to accept food benefits.
