Description

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — With the 2021 primary election now less than two weeks away, Montgomery County has opened up 11 ballot drop-off boxes across the area. The secure boxes will opened on May 1 at 10 a.m. Montgomery County sheriff's deputies take the ballots to the Voter Services office each day. The drop boxes will remain open 24 hours a day until 8 p.m. on election night, May 18. Voters can only return their own ballots. The drop boxes were a key fixture first in the 2020 primaries and then again in the general election last fall. The county ran 11 boxes ahead of the Nov. 2020 election, noting that they made it easier to return ballots and also helped relieve the burden on the US Postal Service.
