BERKELEY, CA — A traffic stop early Saturday morning led to the arrest of a suspect on weapons and drugs charges, Berkeley police said. Officers at around 3:30 am, officers pulled over a vehicle for speeding in the area of Derby Street and MLK Jr. Way and found two of vehicle's four occupants had outstanding arrest warrants, police said. Officers also found a baggie of MDMA/methamphetamine inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as a 23-year-old Oakland man, was arrested on suspicion of carrying a loaded/concealed firearm and possession of a controlled substance, police said. One of the passengers, a 28-year-old Berkeley man, was arrested on suspicion of outstanding arrest warrants according to police.
