Love the smell of sawdust? Long-established custom woodworking shop in Camp Verde specializing in high-end kitchen and bathroom cabinetry is seeking a part-time, entry level, *reliable* general woodshop assistant for weekday mornings/early afternoons. Our current shop assistant is moving and leaving us soon; we need to replace her ASAP! You must have a valid driver's license and currently own your own, reliable vehicle; no exceptions. Days and hours vary and will change weekly- your hours will always fluctuate somewhat depending on the shop workload. Expect approximately 10 hours per week at first, with additional hours added as you get trained. This is a great place to work if you like working with wood and being active. This is a casual environment that includes two friendly shop dogs. Perfect for someone with their mornings and early afternoons free and flexible M-F. This will NOT be a good fit if you need full-time work, or if you need exact, set hours each week. No prior cabinetry/woodworking experience required. Basic knowledge of tools appreciated. This is not heavy manual labor, but it is a physically demanding job. You should be able to occasionally lift at least 50 lbs. Expect to be constantly lifting and carrying items around, kneeling on the ground, squatting, bending over, assisting in picking up and moving heavy wood planks or cabinets around or from point A to B, sweeping and wrangling sawdust often, standing for multiple hours straight, working with or near large saws and power tools, etc. Some days will require you to clean all areas of the shop out, including disinfecting multiple bathrooms, mopping, etc. You will also be asked to drive from the shop into Cottonwood to run errands occasionally. Specific prior experience isn’t required, but you must be a reliable, punctual, hard worker capable of handling the physical requirements of the job. Please no summer-only workers; we need someone long term. Finally, please have a clean criminal background and be able to pass a drug test. Again, this is part time work, and the hours will vary.
