This position is full time and Direct Hire with potential for growth, with the hours from 7 am – 4/5:30 pm, Mondays through Fridays (applicants must be available for overtime and weekend shifts as well). The pay rate is $20-28/hr (DOE). If you are qualified and interested submit a resume now! **If chosen for the position, you will be required to complete a background and drug screening** Summary: Instrumentation and Control Technicians within the launch group are responsible for the calibration, installation and maintenance of launch site instrumentation and control systems. You will work as part of a small team requiring minimal supervision, so a self-starter is a must! Duties & Responsibilities • Read complex schematics, wiring diagrams, and shop drawings for the purpose of installation, troubleshooting and repair of components • Pull and terminate cables using various wire stripping, crimping tools and connector types • Perform rigorous installations in compliance to TIA-942 standards • Maintain and repair network communications systems (i.e. fiber networks, Ethernet networks, serial data, voice and video systems) • Construct data centers, fiber infrastructure, CAT6A panels, cable trays, data cabinets, racking equipment, phone systems, grounding and bonding • Must document fiber and copper patching via company software Rack Table and Patch Manager • Maintain and repair information systems and repair/replace subcomponents as required • Perform safety checks and operate heavy equipment such as boom lifts and forklifts • Perform general housekeeping and maintain the appearance of the site • Coordinate purchase orders with vendors to achieve timely and cost effective installation and repair of site equipment • Perform ground equipment checkouts in support of test and launch operations and supports day of launch “red team” • Other duties as assigned Required Skills & Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED • 3+ years of Telecommunications or related field with cabling experience • Ability to interpret information and communication systems drawings and prints • Skilled in the use of personal computers and numerous software applications such as Excel, MS Word, MS outlook, PowerPoint, Access, etc.… • Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, drilling methods, and Safety Gear • Knowledge of Outside Plant and Layer1 standards • Flexible and team focused approach, and willing to work with other departments as needed Desired Skills and Qualifications: • US Active Duty Military Service, related C3 and maintenance specialties • BISCI certification or equivalent • 5+ years of Telecommunications or related field with cabling experience • Prior experience with Fiber Optic splicing, OTDR, fiber meters, and fiber troubleshooting • Experience with data center, outside plant and communications systems • Working knowledge of communications architectures (SM/MM FO, T1, Serial RS232/485, USB, TCP/IP, UDP, Media Conversion, etc.…) and data communication technologies • Preferred experience with serial data transmission systems (Recommended Standard RS-232, RS-422, RS-485 EIA 530/DB9 RJ45) (data circuit-terminating equipment or data communication equipment) • Experience working on a launch site or government installation • Prior experience with instrumentation and controls Additional Requirements: • Must be a U.S. person as defined by the ITAR • Ability to pass Air Force background check for Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA and Cape Canaveral AFS, FL • Must be comfortable stooping and bending, as well as standing for long periods of time to support test and launch day operations • Ability to work at elevated heights (up to 100 feet) • Ability to operate machinery such as forklifts and boom lifts a plus • Must be able to work in varying climate environments (inside and outside), heat, cold, rain, day, and or night • Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds unassisted We as well as our client are equal opportunity employers, women and minorities are encouraged to apply. **Any offer of employment is contingent on receipt of a satisfactory background check, which will include a review of the applicant’s criminal history.
