Summer Camp Assistant Nutrition Coordinator

Description

The position is Assistant Nutritional Coordinator, at Camp Caboose, a childcare program for elementary school students run by Red Caboose Childcare center. We are licensed by the state of Wisconsin and accredited by the city of Madison. The shift is 8:00AM- 2:00PM Monday through Friday, June 15-August 19, with expectation of some staff training at the end of May or beginning of June. This person will be responsible for serving breakfast, lunch and snacks to our campers, daily, and responsible for maintenance of food service space. (Food and menu preparation is done by the childcare center staff and delivered daily.) Pay is about $11.50 - $12.00 with option to negotiate days off. Applicants must pass a background check in accordance with the State requirements for childcare licensing. With COVID-19 changing the childcare expectations to do family style dining, and then COVID- precautions changing constantly the position mostly entails preparing the meal carts for the classrooms where the Captains and Counselors will dish out the food to the campers, collecting food carts and washing dishes, taking and recording food temps and maintaining other records and standards of kitchen cleanliness and organization. The detailed list of job duties is changing from last summer and from pre-Covid camp years.
