Horsemanship Instructor
Located in beautiful North San Diego County in sunny Southern California, Rawhide Ranch is a one of a kind ranch camp for kids. It is a high energy, completely unique, year-round youth camp program for kids ages 7-15. We have 50+ horses and nearly 100 livestock animals that nearly 150 kids ride and work with everyday. Our cabins are covered wagons, a cavalry fort, tee pees and an old schoolhouse. The camp itself is an old west town.
We need to hire a full-time, year-round, instructor to help us teach our campers about horses. This position requires:
• Teaching beginning horse science and riding to campers aged 7-15
• Provide basic care for the horses including feeding, watering, and cleaning pens.
• Provide supervision to our campers in doing basic ranch chores (feeding, watering, cleaning pens, etc.)
• Provide first aid and basic veterinary care to any animal that needs it.
A Rawhide Ranch Horsemanship instructor will:
• Have a heart to reach, teach and serve children
• Have experience working with horses.
• Love the outdoors and animals and having fun!
• Possess a positive and exemplary attitude
• Have experience working with kids
• Be willing to be humble and to learn from our more senior staff
• Have the proven ability to work and thrive in a team environment
• Able to take directions well and learn humbly and quickly
