Please apply on our website or follow the link below: Our Salem locations are:  NE Salem 1880 Commercial St NE, Salem, OR 97301 South Salem 4655 Commercial St SE, Salem, OR 97302 Lancaster 1917 Lancaster Dr NE, Salem, OR 97305 PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain the appearance of the Redemption Center inside and out including sweeping, mopping, wiping down counters/machines, windows/doors, properly storing supplies, and cleaning the breakroom and restrooms. Educate and introduce customers to Oregon’s Bottle Bill and the BottleDrop system. Assist customers with kiosks, payment slips, bags, tags, hand counts, and reverse vending machines (RVM’s). Enforce daily limits in a professional and polite manner. Efficiently and accurately complete all data entry requirements and the processing of beverage containers. Safely operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Redemption Center equipment. Adhere to all OBRC policies and any applicable OSHA safety policies, including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment and Lock Out Tag Out. Clean and maintain work area and equipment to ensure a safe work environment Escalate repair/ IT issue when necessary Communicate with other departments within OBRC as needed Other job duties as assigned Requirements – Skills, Job Knowledge & Abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate professionally at all levels with internal and external business partners Ability to prioritize and multi-task Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel Ability to work multiple locations throughout their designated area Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs Reliable transportation Lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand for several hours a day and climb ladders BENEFITS Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance plans for Full-Time employees 401(k) with company matching Paid Time Off Paid Holidays You: You like keeping busy so that your shifts fly by. We take care of our customers by making the process of returning deposit containers fast, clean and convenient! And did we mention we are willing to get a little dirty to keep Oregon clean? We are looking for hard working people with attention to detail to operate a variety of equipment that sorts, counts, and moves empty beverage containers. No experience? No worries! We have amazing supervisors that are here to train you! We’ll teach you cleaning, maintenance and basic troubleshooting of Redemption Center equipment, including an electric pallet jack. And most importantly, we’ll train you to do it all safely. One more thing, we require a pre-employment drug screen for amphetamine/methamphetamine, barbiturates, cocaine metabolite and opiates. We recognize that marijuana is legal in the state of Oregon, so it is not included in the drug screen. We have flexible schedules and amazing teams! Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative (OBRC) is a member-owned, cooperative corporation in charge of picking up and processing nearly 100% of all containers redeemed in Oregon. We pick up from over 2,700 retailers and OBRC's BottleDrop Redemption Centers across the state and recycle millions of containers a day. As a result of what we do, more than 138 million pounds of beverage containers stay out of our landfills each year, and we all enjoy a cleaner, greener Oregon.
