* Full-time/Hourly Position in small charter high school; Hourly Pay Rate: Negotiable * Full job benefits, including health insurance, five sick days in a calendar year, five vacation days after one year. * Shift: Negotiable hours, but one constant is that for a temporary period of time, the start time on Mondays is 6:00 am. * The position of Day Porter is an hourly position performing janitorial duties before, during, and/or after normal school hours, Monday - Friday. The day porter is responsible for facilities upkeep and maintaining appearance standards of building interiors as well as outside grounds, including regular clearance of debris from sidewalks of two streets that front and side our property (Roscoe Blvd. and Wilbur Avenue) as well as our parking lot. The qualified candidate will have a background in janitorial duties. Also must be willing to perform simple-to-complex “handyman”-type tasks.

 *Eight (8) hours per day; Monday-Friday, 40-hour workweek. A 6:00 am start time each Monday is important to schedule as it is the time our Wilbur Avenue-located trash bins must be moved out to the street for LA City pickup and then later moved back, but this start time may eventually change. All other workdays can have pre-scheduled flex hours. *Report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete the scheduled workday on a consistent basis. *Ability/willingness to occasionally work varying shifts, additional hours and/or overtime depending on service needs, including some evening hours. *Grasp, lift/lower, push/pull, operate equipment and tools, up to and greater than 50 pounds. *Perform normal janitorial duties including classroom, office, and restroom cleaning along with aforementioned outdoor grounds upkeep. No gardening duties are required. *Might be assigned closing-of-facility duties on some weeknights. Buildings total approximately 20,000 s.f. Have a sufficient ability to communicate, through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions.
