I want to do more than just play songs, I want them to be arranged. Been playing 7 years - here is me playing after a year and a half https://youtu.be/WLQBvQf7Xd0 So here is what i am looking for: In short - good musicians - like my original music - can read charts/arrangements - enjoy improvising - like many styles of music In long I want to play a majority original music. I want to play many styles of music. I want to do more than just play the song, I want arrangements. Think big band. My idea is to have a sort of "modular" band. I have in mind a 9 piece band with 3 in each section. A rhythm section, "string" section, and horn section. "Strings" Chromatic harmonica Violin Electric guitar Horns Trumpet Tenor sax Trombone (my wife) Rhythm Voice/guitar/piano (me) Bass Drums Can be a 3 piece, six, or 9 piece band. Open to other instruments not listed. I will write/arrange for whichever musicians are interested and are a good fit. Banjo, accordion, other wind instruments could all be good fits. I would like to rehearse at least once per week. I am a private music teacher so music is how I make my living. It does not need to be how you make yours, but understand I am looking for a level of professionalism and realize that for me, gigs will hopefully soon be a fair portion of my income again. I recently got my second shot, and will be holding rehearsals starting in about another week. At the moment I am only looking for other fully vaccinated or soon to be fully vaccinated musicians due to the nature of playing horns inside and the inability to wear masks. This also makes finding gigs easier if I can say my whole band is vaccinated. So, if you like my originals, you like my first two arrangements and want to see what they will sound like after I have done many more, and are generally interested, send me some recordings, some info about you, what instrument you play, and I will send a short packet of audition materials so you can look at the music before we get together.
