The Yard Coordinator will ensure that driver’s needs are met in the yard and that the equipment in the yard is maintained appropriately. A Class A CDL is preferred, but not required. Apply Now! E. W. YARD COORDINATOR - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES A. Responsible to inspect in-coming and out-going equipment. B. Assist drivers in reporting repair needs to the maintenance department. C. Assist drivers with special needs, communicating with appropriate department personnel. D. Meet required deadlines to ensure project completion. E. Assure that equipment in properly placed either in service or out of service and properly marked. F. Check tire pressures on equipment routinely. G. Practice workplace safety at all time while inspecting and operating company equipment. H. Responsible for ensuring projects operate within all safety regulations and or guidelines. I. Develop recommendations of efficiencies. YARD COORDINATOR - MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS A. Ability to load complex materials and products. B. Perform assigned duties under frequent time pressures in an interruptive environment. C. Excellent load securement knowledge and skills. D. Ability to lift and carry objects up to 75 pounds. E. Frequent use of yard equipment. F. Frequent bending, twisting, stepping up and down to and from yard equipment. YARD COORDINATOR - EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE A. Certified to operate yard equipment including forklifts etc. B. Valid Class A CDL driver license preferred. C. Two years experience in a trucking environment, specifically yard management. YARD COORDINATOR - WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS A. Forklift and other yard equipment B. Terminal C. Truck D. Maintenance environment E. Extreme weather conditions The Yard Coordinator reports directly to the Shop Manager. The Yard Coordinator has no supervisory authority.
