PMI Pipe, Steel & Supplies Yard Personnel are to participate in our warehouse operations and activities. Yard Personnel responsibilities include, but are not limited to, pulling and filling customer orders, inspecting and receiving incoming material, processing inter-company material transfers and equipment maintenance, keeping yard manicured, cleaned of debris, and customer service. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Understand PMI Pipe, Steel & Supplies mission statement. Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization Report any discrepancies Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers Communicate effectively and efficiently with customers and vendors Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations Respond in a timely manner to radio requests Yard organization – always be prepared for inventory Keep yard maintained, ie cut grass, remove weeds at fence line and around inventory, pick up debris, sweep warehouse, clean material for show, etc. Some saw operation and painting required. Other tasks as assigned Requirements Must be 25 or older due to insurability requirements for equipment use Proven working experience as a yard/warehouse worker Able to operate forklift, utility vehicles, overhead cranes and small power tools. Good communication skills Dress and perform job duties in a professional manner; company uniform required Follow company procedures and employee manual Ability to multi-task Ability to lift heavy objects, up to 50 pounds. Ability to squat, twist, reach and stand/walk for an entire work day Ability to work in Texas weather ie, heat, cold, dust, rain Ability to walk in a gravel yard and hard indoor surface most of the work day Able to work overtime and some Saturday’s Current forklift license or ability to obtain a forklift license Ability to read, write and speak the English language well enough to communicate, read, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals and training. Able to read tape measure/caliper. Must be proficient in simple math; add, subtract, multiply and divide – weights, length, size, etc. Spanish as a second language a plus.
