ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Includes but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned). *Able to perform daily checks on various equipment and report to Area lead any deficiencies. *Able to perform all duties within the shift rotation in the warehouse operation (ie., runner, order picker, order scanner, receiver, loader etc.). *Makes sure proper rotation is used (FIFO-first in/first out) when picking orders. *Is familiar with the product line and code dating to ensure customer specifications are met. *Makes sure products to be shipped have been approved to be used (QA released). *Perform peripheral work as needed (i.e., dating hams for specific customers, re-labeling, sanitation, re-stacking of bought-in product, etc.). *Ensures quality of pallets and product are acceptable to receive as well as to ship. *Responsible for the cleanliness of assigned area as well as organization of area at the end of the operators shift. *Daily use of equipment necessary to complete the tasks of put away and replenishment and picking of pallets within the rack system in the warehouse. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred and a minimum of three months warehouse experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
