Job Description Position: Pool Maintenance Technician Summary of Position: The purpose of the maintenance technician position is to maintain the facilities of Laguna Beach Christian Retreat. This is accomplished with a team of maintenance personnel who repair or replace things that are broken. Essential functions of the position: 1. Ability to use and operate various hand tools and power tools as described below 2. Ability to ascend/descend and work atop a ladder 3. Ability to work for extended periods of time exposed to outdoor weather conditions 4. Ability to lift items weighing 50 pounds from the ground to a height of 3-4 feet 5. Must have a valid government issued driver’s license 6. Ability to move or traverse across the Laguna Beach Christian Retreat campus 7. Ability and knowledge of commercial swimming pools. Nonessential functions of the position: 1. None Job Specifications: Have or obtain a CPO certificate The person in this position needs to have the ability to read and write. The person in this position needs to have the ability to learn technical information. The person in this position needs to have the ability to bend and stoop down to repair things broken at or near the ground. The person in this position needs to have the ability to work with other Laguna Beach Christian Retreat maintenance personnel to accomplish a task. The person in this position needs to have the ability to work unsupervised for more than two hours at a time. The person in this position needs to have the ability to work outdoors for an extended period. The person in this position needs to possess a valid government issued driver’s license and have the ability to drive the company truck or other gasoline powered vehicles. The person in this position needs to have the ability to move or traverse across the Laguna Beach Christian Retreat campus. The person in this position needs to have the ability to ascend/descend a ladder. The person in this position needs to have the ability to work atop a ladder. The person in this position needs to have the ability to use basic hand tools including but not limited to hammer, tape measure, square, screwdriver, pliers, sockets. The person in this position needs to have the ability to use basic power tools including but not limited to circular saw, drill, table saw, radial arm saw, drill press, sewer snake. The person in this position needs to have the ability to speak in a professional way to Laguna Beach Christian Retreat guests and co-workers. The person in this position needs to have a basic understanding of plumbing and electrical systems. The person in this position needs to have the ability to operate a handheld two-way radio.
