MIG, TIG WELDING and FABRICATOR JOB FUNCTION Accurately and efficiently fabricate to blueprints and sketch specifications. Layout, cut and fit details and assemblies from raw material. Weld and inspect in accordance with company standards and specifications. Be able to perform final repairs and fabrication. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES This document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying the position. • Review models, blueprints or sketches for details and assembly sequence. Check material and hardware quantity and availability. • Layout, cut, prep, fit, and tack per model, blueprint or sketch dimensions. Weld all joints in accordance with company specifications. • The ability to weld on: Aluminum, Stainless, Steel and Brass • Set-up and run weld department equipment, including cutting, forming, grinding and welding machines. • Check and inspect all details, assemblies and finished product for conformance to model, blueprint, sketch dimensions. • Perform all welding tasks with minimal supervision. EDUCATION Certification in welding standards. EXPERIENCE • 4+ years min experience in weld shop environment CORE COMPETENCY • 4 years of experience with MIG and TIG welding. • Read/communicate with coworkers and leads. • Read and interpret model, drawings/blueprints, including welding symbols and types. • Knowledge of common welding practices and procedures • Ability to use manual inspection equipment and inspection techniques. • Knowledge of material types and filler materials for welding processes. • Problem solving – the individual identifies and reports problems in a timely manner. • Interpersonal Skills – the individual remains open to ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things. .• Quality Control – the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality. • Adaptability – the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. • Dependability – the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance. • Safety – the individual actively promotes and personally observes safety procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly. Working Conditions: • Typically stands for extended periods at workstation.• Will periodically need to work in strenuous ergonomic conditions (tight spaces, awkward angles).• Must be able to see, hear, touch, feel, lift (up to 40 lbs.) and stoop, bend, kneel for extended periods of time• Will work in the manufacturing, fabrication and machine shop.• May be required to travel to other site locations during the work day.• May be required to work OT and weekends to meet department and business demands.
