Full Job Description: Small Blessings Children’s Homes located in Largo and Seminole, FL, is hiring a facilities Maintenance and Repir savvy person to provide repair, upkeep, and remodeling services at various residential children’s Foster homes in the Largo and Seminole area. Are you a jack-of-all-trades who’s skilled in carpentry, flooring, landscaping, plumbing, and everything in between? Are you open to travelling to local job sites on a regular basis? Your Main Duties as a Maintenance Technician Your main responsibility is to provide routine, preventive and emergency maintenance and repairs to our resedenyal foster homes. Here, your work helps keep our kids in good quality living conditions and a well maintained home. On any given workday, you'll perform any or all of these following tasks: You handle preventative upkeep, installation, and general repairs in and outside of homes. You build rapport, communicate, and talk to our administrative and on-sire staff so that they can help you effectively schedule and manage multiple work orders. You texture and paint interiors and exteriors and you perform woodworking and carpentry tasks. You install vinyl, laminate, tile, and wood flooring, irrigation and gutter systems, and fix decks and fences. Our team receives requests for you to repair and/or remodel kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor living spaces occasionally. You provide plumbing and electrical services, and you operate a computer to share updates with the team and manage your work orders. Top Skills for Success - Stamina. Strength. Skill. Service. Here's a few more details that will help you assess if you're a solid match for this opportunity: You live in or near Largo-St. Petersburg- Clearwater, FL (Tampa Bay area) and you have reliable transportation to and from work sites and the office. You have a decent driving record, a valid driver’s license, you're strong enough to move furniture, and you're able to pass a background check. We ask that you have 5 years or more of general handyman, commercial and/or residential construction, maintenance, and repairs experience. You should be skilled in carpentry, installations, communication, and customer service. You have an eye for details, you think analytically, have a great work ethic, and you’re organized. We provide most tools; but providing your own tools at times is helpful, own a working cell phone, be nice and trustworthy, and be easy to work with.
