Please join AIER's Bastiat Society program in Chicago for their inaugural event with AIER’s Director of Programs, Brad DeVos. This talk will explore the history of the Bastiat Society and how it grew from a single discussion group to now include over 40 cities hosting about 200 events each year - becoming the largest network of liberty-minded business people in the world. We will also discuss its future, and what role the business community has in advancing personal and economic freedom. Registration required. _______________________ More about the speaker: Brad DeVos spent the first nine years of his professional life as an engineer before becoming President and CEO of the Bastiat Society. He has led the Society since 2011, when it was just a single discussion group in Charleston, South Carolina. In 2017, the Bastiat Society was acquired by the American Institute for Economic Research and became its primary outreach program. With its specific mission of engaging business people, it has since spread to nearly 40 cities, hosting over 170 events each year, and attracting thousands of attendees from around the globe. He earned a B.S. in Economics and a B.A. in Urban Studies from the College of Charleston, as well as an associates degree in Computer Aided Design and Drafting from the ITT Technical Institute. Brad is a L.E.E.D. Accredited Professional, a member of the historic Mont Pelerin Society, a graduate of the Atlas Network Leadership Academy, and an alumnus of the Charles Koch Institute’s Liberty@Work program, and a former member of the South Carolina Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
