Description
SALEM, MA — A new fire hydrant is coming to Salem. But water will have to shut off one neighborhood Thursday for its installation.
The city said there will be a planned shutdown in the area of Clark Street on Thursday starting at 9 a.m. to allow for the shutoff from an old water system prior to the demolition of a building on the street, and for the city to install the new hydrant.
It is possible that areas nearby may experience a drop in water pressure or brown water. The water is expected to be back on no later than 4 p.m. on Thursday.
If you experience brown water, run it on cold until it clears.
