Description
Help us make room for a more "interactive and lively" approach to knowledge and learning by taking some of our used books The Nevada County Campus of Sierra College is redesigning its library: we are making room for a more “interactive and lively” approach to knowledge and learning, renaming one floor of our library The Learning Commons. This top floor is being redesigned for spaces that students may interact with each other, with librarians, and with other academic support staff (to include student tutors and faculty) around knowledge and learning. They will have available to them a robust and staff supported reference section, as well as supportive technology for academic growth and discussion. Discussion groups, tutoring sessions, group or classroom meet ups and more are designed for this space. Downstairs at the Nevada County Campus library, a more “traditional” library/study place (with minimal noise and places of quiet study or research) is planned. To facilitate this transition, we need to make room NOW! On Friday ONLY, May 14th we will be opening our doors to allow4 people per hour to make their choices and take away any of the 50 boxes of these FREE books from our donated collection. Though there is no set “limit” to the number of books per person, anyone that would like to make a donation to the Nevada County Council of the Sierra College Foundation may do so by clicking here. In this way, we will ensure that the books not only go to our local residents, but that each donation will be made available to students with needs that attend classes on the Nevada County Campus.
