B, Austin, Texas, 78754 / (512)433-6323 Electrical Helper DAY TO DAY TASKS:  Efficiently follows direction of job duties from Supervisors/Foreman & Leads, including assisting Journeyman onsite. Trace out short circuits in wiring using test meter. Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit, using measuring instruments and hand tools. Perform semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties related to the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment. Disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace defective or worn parts, and reassemble equipment, using hand tools. Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation and tighten connections, using hand tools. Strip insulation from wire ends, using wire stripping pliers, and attach wires to terminals for subsequent soldering. Thread conduit ends, connect couplings, and fabricate and secure conduit support brackets, using hand tools. Needs to be able to follow safety rules. High School diploma or GED and/or Vocational school diploma or certification. Must be able to pass background check and drug screens Should be able to work in various weather conditions Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs *This position requires specific experience in commercial /industrial electrical installations *Your skill level and competency for this job will be assessed through a hands-on assessment **Your test results of Pre-Employment Written Assessment will determine compensation ** REQUIREMENTS: WEAR FACE MASK High School diploma or GED and/or Vocational school diploma or certification. Must be able to pass background check and drug screens VAILD/ ACTIVE TDLR License – State of Texas                                                                                Apprentice Electrician License or Higher   Take our Pre-Employment Written Assessment   Apprentice and Helper Only: – Enrollment in TRIO apprenticeship program and valid Texas Apprentice License is REQUIRED. Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required. Education - High school diploma or G.E.D. Vocational school diploma or certification.
