South State Street Over Rippowam River Closed For Renovation

Information from City of Stamford STAMFORD, CT— The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled closure and detour of South State Street over the Rippowam River in Stamford from May 3 at 7 a.m. to Nov. 30. The closure is necessary to facilitate the rehabilitation of the existing bridge and roadway over the Rippowam River. The I-95 Northbound Exit 7 Off-Ramp will be reconfigured to allow for two left-turn lanes onto Northbound Greenwich Avenue, and one right-turn lane onto Southbound Greenwich Avenue. Passenger vehicles traveling from I-95 Northbound Exit 7 Off-Ramp will turn left heading Northbound onto Greenwich Avenue to Richmond Hill Avenue, turn right on Richmond Hill Avenue heading East to Washington Boulevard, and turn right on Washington Boulevard heading Southbound to South State Street. Trucks traveling from I-95 Northbound Exit 7 Off-Ramp will turn left heading Northbound onto Greenwich Avenue to Tresser Boulevard (Rte. 1), turn right on Tresser Boulevard (Rte. 1) heading East to Washington Boulevard, and then turn right on Washington Boulevard heading Southbound to South State Street.
